Welcome

Dear Friends,

First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for your generous support of my re-election campaign.

It is now a new year and a new Congress. Thanks to the hard work of people like you, the Republicans have regained the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. Now, we must keep our word to you. We have heard you loud and clear that we must focus on jobs, reduce the size of the government, and actually cut spending, not just reduce the rate of growth. Focusing on these issues and advocating for them fiercely, and civilly, is exactly what I promise to you.

  • I will oppose the White House's efforts to circumvent the Congress and implement liberal agenda items such as Cap and Trade, Amnesty for Illegals, Regulation of the Internet and others through federal regulations.
  • I will provide robust oversight of this administration as Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee for Oversight, Investigations and Management.
  • I will continue to highlight that this administration is not serious about reducing spending as evidenced by the President saying in the same State of the Union address he wants to tackle the deficit while proposing even more stimulus spending.
  • I will continue pushing my Republican leadership for real spending cuts, not just reducing spending growth.
  • I will continue my fight for earmark reform I began in 2008 when I walked-the-walk and stopped requesting earmarks.
  • I will continue to fight for job creating policies for businesses of all sizes by reducing the tax burden on business and fighting needless and expensive new federal regulations.

With me, you know what you get. My record of fiscal responsibility is crystal clear. I have opposed every misguided government bailout, the failed stimulus packages, Obamacare, Cap and Trade and fought tooth and nail against letting the tax cuts passed in 2000 expire in 2010.

I’ve have also worked to bring security to our borders, help give our law enforcement and military the tools needed to beat the terrorists and helped fight back threats against the family values and common sense living needed in our nation.

You can always count on me to have a plan of action and keep my word to you. We cannot afford a “wait and see” attitude. I will continue to remember that you and your families are the reason for my service to our nation.

I am asking you to help me continue this fight and to help ensure that I continue serving you in the United States House of Representatives as your Congressman. Thank you again for your ongoing support.

Yours respectfully,

Michael T. McCaul
Member of Congress (TX-10)
