The recent acts of Islamist terror in Minnesota, New York, and New Jersey showed how our streets are becoming the new battleground in the war against terror. Many lives were saved thanks to the swift action of brave first responders.
Congressman McCaul is sponsoring the “Community Counterterrorism Preparedness Act,” which will provide America’s front line defenders funds they need to conduct training exercises to prepare them for the most likely terrorist attack scenarios, including active shooters or improvised explosive devises.
Our police, fire and other emergency responders must be ready to detect suspicious activity and respond quickly to limit casualties. As we face the most severe threat level since 9/11, we must make sure our first responders are equipped to fight back.
