The Vineyard II in Eagle Lake honored our men and women in the military on May 26th. The restaurant had drink specials and provided a special gift to veterans and active duty soldiers.
I ate lunch with sailors from TX-10 who are serving aboard the USS Harry S. Truman. Every day, they put their lives at risk to protect our national security. I am proud to represent these brave men and women as they continue to fight against ISIS.

Giddings hosted the Lee County Fair & Charcoal Challenge from May 19th to the 21st at the Fireman’s Park/Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Area. There was plenty of fun activities, including bingo, square dancing, the Lee County Fair Queen Pageant, music from the Randy Rogers Band and a car show!
Families enjoyed the 5th annual Jack Hooper Day at the Ballpark and Homerun Derby on May 14th in Schulenburg. There were home run derbies for men, women and kids. The event was sponsored by the Turtle Wing Foundation, which helps children with learning challenges achieve their dreams.
Fayetteville held its Texas Pickin’ Park on May 14th, where local bands assembled at the Town Square and played classic country and folk songs. These songs brought back many good memories for concert goers.
Weimar had its Gedenk! Festival on May 6th-7th. This festival celebrates Weimar’s German heritage with great activities, including arts and crafts, games, a 5k run/walk and a BBQ cook off!
On May 6th at 5:30 p.m., the Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department had its 4th Annual Crawfish Boil at the Lincoln Community Picnic Grounds. Guests enjoyed great music and a delicious Cajun dinner!
Brenham hosted the Wake Up, Washington County! Networking Breakfast on May 3rd at 7:45 a.m. at the Brenham Christian Academy. It was a great opportunity to network and learn about new products in Washington County.
